Bloomfield-based brewery Thomas Hooker Brewing has become the first in Connecticut to launch a hemp-infused THC beverage called MUZE.

Connecticut has recently legalized the sale of hemp-based THC beverages. Currently, the state allows the sale of moderate-THC products under some conditions. The launch of MUZE seems like seizing the perfect opportunity with the legalization. It is an important milestone in the state’s evolving beverage market.
MUZE is being marketed as a ‘perfectly balanced’ drink that gives people a mild ‘buzz’. The punch in the MUZE seltzer comes with a combination of 3 mg of THC and 15 mg of CBD. While THC produces a mild intoxication feeling, CBD acts as a reliever.
According to MUZE co-founder Shirley Weldon, MUZE is ‘designed to elevate moments’. Weldon promotes it as a fitting drink for both solo relaxation moments and light-hearted group sessions. The brewery has made MUZE available across 200 stores in the state.
Hemp-infused beverages are considered healthier alternatives to alcohol. They have fewer calories than alcoholic drinks. Also, they do not cause hangovers as easily as alcohol does.
MUZE has the right balance of THC and CBD as it follows the state’s regulatory rules. The brand highlights its therapeutic properties due to its CBD content. MUZE is likely to be a strong contender in the market for non-alcoholic recreational beverages.
Thomas Hooker Brewery already has another successful hemp-based product—’Chill AF’. It is a CBD seltzer containing 20 mg of CBD per can. MUZE comes as an addition to the brewery’s expanding range of wellness beverages.
MUZE boasts of being vitamin-enriched, using high-quality hemp ingredients and real fruit pulp. The THC seltzer is available in Lemon, Raspberry Lime, Peach, and Pure variants.
The legislation for legalizing THC-infused beverages in Connecticut came into effect on 1st January 2025. MUZE’s launch coincided with the date of the legalization. This happened along with the brewery becoming the first to own the license to legally sell the same.
