FAQs Related To Nutritional value

Is there any difference between hemp seed oil from China and India?

Cold-pressed seed oil from organically grown hemp is amazing in its nutritional value. Hemp plants can grow on a variety of soils. The only kind of soil that damages the natural growth of the hemp plant is soil with lousy drainage.

However, the mineral richness of organically grown hemp seed and its products depends on how rich in minerals the soil is. Hemp Foundation sources its hemp seeds only from the state of Uttarakhand, India.

Uttarakhand in the foothills of the Himalayas is a naturally mineral-rich state. Hemp plants organically grown in the state absorb several minerals necessary for human health.

In China, hemp cultivation happens mostly in the Heilongjiang and Yunnan provinces. The provinces have significant differences in the soil composition, especially in terms of the presence of minerals like calcium, magnesium, potassium, and sulfur necessary for human health.

When you buy hemp seed oil in bulk from China, the essential mineral content may vary depending on where the plants are from. As the leading hemp seed oil exporter from India, our single source guarantees the same degree of mineral richness.

What are some excellent vegan sources of omega-3 fatty acids? Is Omega 3 a steroid?

The most abundant vegan source of omega 3 fatty acids is seaweed and algae. Immediately after them are three vegetable seed oils: chia seed oil, flaxseed oil, and hemp seed oil.

Both chia seed oil and flaxseed oil are more abundant in omega 3 content than hemp seed oil. Nearly 75% of the fat in chia seed oil consists of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) found in omega 3 fatty acids. One tablespoon of chia seed oil contains about 2400 mg of omega 3.

Flaxseed oil is also similarly rich in omega 3 fatty acid, with one tablespoon containing the same 2400 mg of it. In comparison, one tablespoon of hemp seed oil contains only about 1000 mg of omega 3.

Even then, hemp seed oil has an advantage over both chia seed oil and flaxseed oil. It offers a far better balance of omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids, both highly necessary for human health.

Chia seed oil has about 20% omega 6, and flaxseed oil has 16%. In contrast, hemp seed oil contains a 15-25% of omega 3 and 50-70% of omega 6. Experts say this is the most balanced combination of the two fatty acids that the human body needs.

Omega 3 fatty acid is not a steroid. In fact, studies show that lower quantities of omega 3 fatty acid can lead to a higher concentration of neuroactive steroids.

How to – Questions

How to extract hemp oil from seeds?

There are several methods to extracting oil from hemp seeds. Cold-pressed hemp oil retains the optimal amount of its natural nutrients.

Cold pressing hemp seeds for oil extraction happens at less than 100 degrees Fahrenheit (37.778 degrees Celsius). Hot pressing occurs at a much higher temperature, which has two effects. Firstly, it gives the oil a toasted flavor. Secondly, the higher the temperature for oil

extraction, the higher also the loss of natural nutrients.

Other methods of extracting oil from hemp seeds like the Rick Simpson technique need the addition of chemical additives. That makes the product unsafe for consumption.

There are other industrial methods of extracting oil from hemp seeds. But these methods of large scale extraction are suitable for hemp seed oil as a biofuel, not for consumption as a dietary supplement.

At Hemp Foundation, we supply the best hemp oil extract, using the cold-press method to preserve the natural ingredients.

How to make hemp seed oil without a press?

There is a complicated process to extract oil from hemp seeds without a press. But it involves a chemical called hexane and two machines: a dry grinder and a rotary evaporator.

You first have to dry the seeds and dehull them. Sun drying is an excellent way to ensure the seeds are dehydrated. Dehulling means removing the shell. Then you grind them to a fine dust using a dry grinder.

Hexane is a kind of alkaline: it is a liquid hydrocarbon that has no color. It is mildly toxic, and prolonged exposure to hexane has hazardous effects on human health. But it is regularly used in extracting oils from seeds.

Make sure that you buy high-grade hexane. You have to soak the powdered hemp seeds in hexane to the ratio of 1:214. So, 214 tablespoons of hexane for one tablespoon of hemp seed powder. Stir the mixture occasionally while hexane separates the oil from the seed powder.

Next, you need to strain it through a small filter of high quality. Refill the jar with hexane and pour through the filter. Then remove the seed mix and repeat the process till all the seed powder is removed.

Finally, use a rotary evaporator, also called a rotovap, to remove the hexane from the oil. If you have a vacuum oven, you could use that after the rotovap to ensure that no trace of hexane is left.

This is possible if you have a chemist at home or have access to a chemist’s equipment. Both rotovap and vacuum oven are instruments used in a chemical laboratory.

Is it possible to extract hemp seed oil at home in the cold press method using a home oil extractor?

Yes, it is. If you have a home oil extractor or a hand-crank machine, as they are popularly called, you can extract hemp seed oil at home. That way, you will know that your hemp seed oil is totally pure, with no additives to it.

Just in case you are new to the home oil extractor, here is a step by step guide to help you extract oil from hemp seeds at home. You need to dehull or shell the hemp seeds for extracting oil from them.

Other items you will need are:

  • A bottle lamp with fuel and a wick. Using standard lamp oil is best. Kerosene is cheaper, but the stench might spread to your hemp seed oil.
  • A lighter or a matchbox and matchsticks to light the bottle lamp
  • A jar for the oil
  • A flat bowl for the refuse

You need to light the lamp and let it burn for about 10 minutes to start the heating.

Fill about one-third of the hopper with dehulled hemp seeds and start turning the handle. Don’t overfill it. That will make it difficult for you to turn the handle.

After a few rounds, you’ll see oil dropping into the jar. Keep refilling the hopper till you’re done with whatever amount of hemp seed you’ve decided to use.

After a while, you’ll see the clearer oil separate at the upper level, with the thicker oil depositing at the bottom. Both are fine.

If you want, you can pour the more transparent oil into another container. Use that for dietary purposes and use the denser oil for hair and skin.

Caution: Don’t touch the front of the hand crank under which the bottle lamp is burning. That part will be hot.

Remember: To blow off the lamp and clean up the machine.

Be aware: Oil extraction at home is hard work and time-consuming.

Just in case you want to avoid the hard work and buy 25 litres or more of hemp seed oil, just place your order with us. We are the best ranked hemp seed oil suppliers in India with an export license.

How rigid is an expiration date for hemp oil?

There is no simple response to this question because the standard of hemp seed oil varies. A recent study carried out in Italy reflects wide variations in the chemical composition of different brands of hemp seed oil. These differences occur because of the quality of the hemp seed used and the oil extraction process.

Generally speaking, if you store good quality hemp oil in a dark bottle in the refrigerator, it will stay up to a year. As the leading manufacturer and exporter of hemp seeds and hemp seed oil from India, we supply only the highest quality oil.

We use only organically grown top-class hemp seeds. We cold press them to extract the oil to preserve its natural nutrients. This is what we sell as hemp seed oil wholesale. You can refrigerate it in a dark bottle and use it up to a year.

Pure hemp seed oil rots quickly. You need to be careful about that. The smell will tell you if your hemp seed oil has gone rancid. This oil has a mild nutty flavor, which will change to an unpleasant sour odor if your hemp seed oil has gone wrong.

So, please refrigerate your hemp seed oil once you’ve opened the bottle. It is also best to use it up before the expiry date.

Marijuana contains the psychoactive chemical tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in high concentration. The presence of THC in hemp is meager. It is virtually absent in hemp seed oil.

Hemp contains a high concentration of cannabidiol (CBD), which has several benefits for human health.

Since this realization, hemp cultivation has been legalized again in some countries of the world.

China is currently the largest supplier of hemp seeds and hemp seed oil, with France coming second. There are currently 30 countries in the world where hemp cultivation is legal. The USA is among them.

In India, only two states have permission of growing hemp legally. At Hemp Foundation, we source our hemp seeds from the hemp farmers of Uttarakhand, a hilly state at the foothills of the Himalayas.

As the number one bulk hemp oil supplier from India, we supply the best hemp oil to buy wholesale in the domestic and global markets.

What is the CBD hemp oil?

Cannabidiol (CBD) oil is produced from the stalks, buds, and flowers of the hemp plant. It is different from hemp seed oil, which is extracted from the seeds of the same plant.

WHO (World Health Organization) certifies that pure CBD does not pose any public health threat. But in the same report, WHO also mentioned that it would need further evidence to recommend the medical use of CBD hemp oil.

Use of CBD oil, along with its import, got federalized in the US by the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 (Farm Bill 2018).

A Harvard University blog post mentions that there is medical evidence that CBD hemp oil is effective in treating some forms of severe childhood epilepsy that do not respond to conventional anti-seizure medication.

The same report also mentions that CBD hemp oil is effective in chronic pain management. It also helps address insomnia and anxiety disorder. But more medical evidence is necessary.

CBD oil is not side effect free. Its use may lead to exhaustion, bad temper, and queasiness. In certain conditions, it may also cause thinning of the blood.

Also, there are quality concerns since many companies from different parts of the world are now marketing CBD oil. For medicinal use of CBD hemp oil, it is best to consult a physician.

However, at Hemp Foundation, we supply bulk hemp oil of both varieties: hemp seed oil and CBD oil with quality certificates. Place your order to buy hemp oil wholesale from us in India or anywhere else in the world where you can legally import it.

Can I send hemp oil tincture through the mail?

The Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 (Farm Bill 2018) legalized the cultivation, use, and import of industrial hemp and its products across the USA. Following that, in March 2019 the US Postal Service clarified that it is legal to send hemp seeds and oil derived from it by mail to any part of the US.

However, on a random check, the THC content must not be more than 0.3%.

Rules about mailing hemp seed oil and CBD oil through mail vary from country to country. In India, for example, a December 2018 report states that hemp seed oil is legal for topical use, but CBD oil is not.

It is best to do a country-specific query, therefore. However, we have the legal status to supply bulk oil for sale anywhere across the globe where importing hemp seed oil or CBD oil is legal.

Hemp Seed Oil Vs. Olive Oil: What's The Difference?

Both olive oil and hemp seed oil are plant-based oils. Both are extracted through cold pressing.

They have comparable uses in the kitchen. For example, you can use both as a dressing on your salad or for pan-frying. Hemp seed oil is not suitable for deep frying.

Extra virgin olive oil has for long dominated kitchen shelves as the healthiest oil. But in the contemporary world, hemp seed oil has emerged as a reliable and generally winning contender.

However, if you have a skin problem that needs hemp seed oil to be absorbed into the bloodstream for treatment, then you have to consume it.

Can I use hemp oil as a base oil for an essential oil?

Essential oil is a natural oil extracted from a plant. It retains the smell of the plant from which it is derived. Hemp seeds, for example, are a variety of nut. Hemp seed oil has a mild nutty flavor.

Essential oils are volatile and need a carrier oil to dilute them for application on the skin. Essential oils by themselves evaporate almost as soon as they are applied. That is why carrier oils are necessary.

Hemp seed oil is an excellent carrier oil for essential oils. Especially so as it brings its own remarkable property of the ideal combination of omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids (1: 3).

Hemp seed oil has pain-relieving properties of its own. When combined with other analgesic essential oils like lavender or peppermint, there is a remarkable impact on relieving joint and muscle pains.

Would vaping hemp oil make you high?

The first point to clarify is that CBD oil is available for vaping, but not hemp seed oil. Vaping CBD hemp oil is gaining in popularity over other forms of CBD oil use.

CBD oil is extracted from the buds, flowers, leaves, and stalks of the hemp plant. To make CBD oil suitable for vaping, it needs blending with vegetable glycerin (VG) and propylene glycol (PG). Ideally, the combination should be 50% of each of these to carry both the flavor and the CBD of CBD oil through vaping.

Some companies also use other thinning agents. Some companies add flavors to the vaping liquid. CBD oil for vaping goes under different names: CBD e-juice, CBD e-liquid, CBD vape-juice, etc.

Vaping pens like the ones used for e-cigarettes are usable for vaping CBD hemp oil also.

Properly extracted CBD oil contains very little tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). This is the psychoactive element present in high concentration in marijuana and in very low concentration in the hemp plant. So, vaping CBD oil has no chance of making you high.

Does hemp oil lower blood pressure?

Clinical trials on rats have demonstrated that the addition of hemp seed to the diet can help in blood pressure control. The ideal combination of omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids (1:3) I hemp seeds is the reason behind this.

Hemp seed oil retains this combination. So, hemp seed oil as a dietary supplement would also have the same positive effect on blood pressure control. But clinical trials on human beings are necessary to confirm these findings.

A review article published in 2014 also mentions that a-linolenic acid (ALA) has beneficial effects on blood pressure management. Hemp seed oil has just the right proportion of ALA. But the study also says that focused clinical trial is necessary to generate more evidence for this.

Physicians also recommend a dietary supplement of CBD hemp oil for blood pressure control. CBD oil has proven efficacy in positively addressing anxiety disorder and insomnia. Controlling either or both of these allows blood vessels to relax.

That, in turn, has a positive impact on blood pressure.

A Study on Hemp Oil: How Does It Help Alleviate Pain?

There is no clinical study to clearly explain whether CBD oil or hemp seed oil is more effective in managing chronic pain in human beings. Both are oils derived from the hemp plant, and both may have analgesic properties.

These oils have different compositions and different benefits for human health. A report published in 2018 offers insights into the pain management capacity of CBD oil in managing chronic pain.

The report uses articles available on the United States National Library of Medicine (PubMed) till March 1, 2018, to report on the pain management potential of either form of hemp oil. This study indicates that vaping hemp oil is most effective in neuropathic pain relief.

Only CBD oil can be used for vaping, not hemp seed oil. The study indicates that the limited literature available on using oral hemp oil (hemp seed oil) shows that it is inadequate in reducing rheumatoid pain and postoperative or chronic abdominal pain.

The study also highlights the need for further research on the long-term effects of using hemp oil for pain reduction.

If you are a retailer or importer looking to buy hemp oil for pain, you are at the right website. You can buy hemp oil in bulk from us, whether you are in India or elsewhere in the world where importing hemp oil is legal.

Hemp Oil Benefits: For Inflammation, Skin, PMS, and Menopause

Hemp seed oil is naturally rich in GLA. It can thus be effective in reducing PMS symptoms.

The presence of GLA is also likely to have a positive impact on menopausal symptoms. But a clinical study has so far only been conducted on rats. Clinical trial on women is necessary to confirm the findings.

Which is better for inflammation, hemp oil or CBD?

Both the oils derived from the hemp plant have strong anti-inflammatory properties. The high content of GLA in hemp seed oil gives this oil remarkable anti-inflammatory properties.

CBD oil has higher benefits in anxiety, insomnia, and pain management.

Some companies use CBD and hemp seed oil together to make available the combined benefits of both the oils.
